Tesla ended one-time sales of FSD (Full Self-Driving) and EAP (Enhanced Autopilot) across the EU on May 21, 2026. The only way to access Tesla's advanced driver-assistance now is a monthly subscription: $99/month in the US, €99 in the Eurozone, £99 in the UK. EAP owners get half price. Germany and Sweden went live today, May 22. The rest of Europe follows.
What happened – the short version
- May 21, 2026: One-time FSD and EAP purchases ended across the EU. (Netherlands: May 15.)
- May 22, 2026: Germany and Sweden activated the subscription option in the Tesla app.
- Eurozone: €99/month standard – €49/month for owners who previously bought EAP.
- UK: £99/month. USA: $99/month, subscription-only since February 14, 2026.

The subscription is cancel anytime: month-to-month, no commitment. Compare that to the old one-time price of $8,000 in the US or €7,500 in the Eurozone.
Why it matters – and what you should do
The new model makes FSD genuinely accessible. The old €7,500 one-time cost was a real barrier – now you can try FSD for one month, decide if it's worth it for you, and cancel.
3 things to do now:
- Check your Tesla app: Under "Upgrades" you can see whether the FSD subscription is already active for your car. Hardware 3 and Hardware 4 are supported – HW4 delivers the smoothest experience.
- If you've previously bought EAP: You automatically get the half-price tier ($49 / €49 / £49). Tesla recognizes EAP from your account.
- If you're ordering a Tesla: You'll now select the subscription during ordering. The one-time option no longer exists.
💡 Good timing: The European rollout is live right now. Germany and Sweden have full FSD features. Other countries including Denmark and the UK are getting features in waves as regulatory approval lands.
What's included in the subscription?
Subscribing to FSD (Supervised) gives you:
- City-street Autopilot: The car handles traffic lights, crosswalks, roundabouts and intersections
- Navigate on Autopilot: Highway on-ramp to off-ramp, including automatic lane changes
- Autopark: Parallel and perpendicular parking with no intervention
- Smart Summon: The car comes to you in a parking lot
- Auto Lane Change: Independent lane changes on the highway
You still need to keep your hands on the wheel and supervise. FSD is legally Level 2 – it is Supervised.
One-time purchase vs. subscription – the math
The old one-time price in the US was $8,000. At $99/month, that's 81 months of subscription – about 6 years 9 months.
If you keep your Tesla less than 6 years, you save money on subscription. If you keep it longer, the old one-time price was cheaper – but that option is gone anyway.
